As the digital landscape evolves, so do the challenges faced by students and educators alike. Navigating the complexities of online classes requires adaptability and resilience. From maintaining engagement in a virtual environment to managing time effectively, these hurdles can be daunting.

As an EFL teacher for an online platform for adult students located mostly in Spain and Italy, I notice occasional saturation of predominantly students at beginner’s to lower intermediate levels with classes. It stems from too-dry content that is too repetitive such as the application of conditionals, modal verbs, and expressing desires/wishes. Instead of the company’s prepared content, I try to overcome this by inputting clear and simple examples in short sentences so students don’t get overwhelmed. I predict that it will become even more difficult for students in France and Portugal due to the heavier pitch and accents of those languages regarding English. Besides, over-correction of students’ errors can also lead to feelings of dissatisfaction and saturation. Therefore, I try to point out errors to students indiscreetly, so they can continue to correct them themselves. Here is a helpful LINK for that.

However, with the right strategies and support as delineated in this article, overcoming these obstacles with placing easy, simple examples can lead to a more enriching educational experience.  If you have more questions, feel free to write us HERE.
